This is the meaning on the dictionary
veg·e·tate (v

intr.v. veg·e·tat·ed, veg·e·tat·ing, veg·e·tates
1. To grow or sprout as a plant does.
2. Pathology To grow in size or spread abnormally.
3. To exist in a state of physical or mental inactivity or insensibility.
4. Informal To engage in relaxing or passive activities, such as watching television.
[Latin veget
re, veget
t-, to enliven; see vegetable.]
Contrary to popular belief, vegetating does not always mean to sit or lie around and do absolutely nothing. From the dictionary, even playing computer games is counted as vegetating. As usually being blamed by Benny to vegetate at every free time I have, I just have to clear this up. Yes, I do vegetate, but that doesn't mean I exist in a state of physical or mental inactivity.

Firstly, I would like to debunk your claims.
Do you exist in a state of mental inactivity when you spend your free time doing nothing?
Yes?
Well according to your own post, you are indeed vegetating.
Secondly, playing computer games is vegetating as by your defination of vegetating is, false.
When you play computer games, you do not engage in a passive activity or relax. If by this wide defination of vegetating, you define reading books as vegating, and studying, therefore, I veto your wide defination. More ever, that defination is informal.
Lastly, you contradict yourself, your own definations claim that vegetating is existing in a sort of mental inactivity and yet you say that you don't exist in mental inactivity?
Please, try again. But don't worry, failure is the mother of all success.
